Broadclub cuttlefish laying eggs, Gili Trawangan, Lombok, Indonesia.
Cuttlefish lay their eggs deep within coral colonies to ensure they are safe from predators. The Gili Islands, located just off Lombok's west coast, are a popular tourist destination. the three islands - Meno, Air and Trawangan - offer many different options for accommodation, eating and nightlife. The name 'Gili Islands' is something of a misnomer as 'Gili' means 'small island' in the local Sasak language. The reefs around the islands have some reasonable hard corals and marine life, but have suffered in the past from damage, bleaching events and pollution. However the islands are still worth visiting and are especially good for student divers.Add to Cart Add to Lightbox Download
