The LivLife Centre in Meserani, Tanzania, was set up to give the local Masai access to free classes and skills training so that they can diversify their livelihoods whilst continuing the traditional lives. Currently the centre offers English language, numeracy and computer classes and has a heavily subscribed kindergarten. Over the 12 months of the World of Difference programme, Max Griffiths aims to improve the quality of the Centre's education programme, increase the services it offers and reach more people. He hopes to develop a sms based service to inform local people about the services on offer at the centre as well as information about the spread of disease or availability of medicine for the Masai's cattle. He also aims to integrate the work of a local clinic, funded by the owners of the nearby Meserani Snake Park. Ultimately, his goal will be to develop a flagship LivLife Centre that can be replicated in other parts of Africa.
